Babeș-Bolyai University

With an academic tradition started in 1581, Babeș-Bolyai University (BBU) in Cluj-Napoca is the oldest and the largest university in Romania, having an academic community of about 50000 people. Starting 2020 BBU has joined the prestigious international academic organization GUILD of Research-Intensive Universities.

Dr. Smaranda Adina COSMA

is professor at UBB, Faculty of Business. From 2015 she is PhD coordinator in the field of Marketing. Dr. Cosma is Study Director for undergraduate specialization Business Administration in Hospitality Services, Vice-Dean responsible for research of Faculty of Business for 10 years, member of the Scientific Council of UBB since 2012 to present. The main research interest is focused on marketing for tourism and hospitality industry.

Dr. Ioan Cristian CHIFU

is professor at UBB, Faculty of Business and currently is the Head of Business Departament. He developed his managerial and organizational skills in different managerial positions within the Faculty of Business and Babeș-Bolyai University: vice-dean of Faculty of Business 2004-2008, Dean of the Faculty of Business 2008-2012, Head of Business Department 2012-2016. He is also the director of Business Administration master program.

Dr. Cristina FLEȘERIU

is an associate professor at the Faculty of Business, Babeș-Bolyai University, member in the Hospitality Services Department since 2014. She focuses on Researching and developing new products and Customer relationship management classes at Bachelor level and Sales management at Masters’ level while teaching courses and seminars for these subjects.

Dr. Emanuel-Emil SĂVAN

is a lecturer at the Faculty of Business, Babes-Bolyai University, and member of the Hospitality Services Department. He was previously (2011-2015) staff member (teaching assistant) at University of Manchester, where he completed his PhD studies. He has experience in working with industrial partners; he took part in joint programs that University of Manchester had with Unilever and Makro. His main research interests include forecasting, optimization, and support methods for decision making.

Dr. George-Silviu CORDOȘ

is a lecturer at the Faculty of Business, Babeș-Bolyai University, staff in the Business Department since 2018. His work as an academic staff of the faculty focuses on Accounting, Finance and Forecasting classes at the Bachelor level and Financial Accounting Reporting at the Masters’ level. His research interests include accounting and auditing reporting, being also a member of the national expert accounting association in Romania.

Drd. Ionuț CĂZAN

is a teaching assistant at Babeș-Bolyai University, member in the Hospitality Services Department since 2018. His research interest comprises but is not limited to tourist destinations governance, marketing for hospitality and tourism, tourism digitalization and also tourism and digital entrepreneurship.
Having almost 45.000 students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, PhD, and non-traditional academic programs, in 21 faculties and one department of teacher training, in 15 cities and 11 provinces, the UBB occupies top positions at the national level in the global rankings and rankings on fields. In 2021 the BBU was confirmed by QS STAR as the first “world-class” (QS*****) university in Romania. As recognition of its academic excellence, BBU has been evaluated as an international university with excellence in teaching and research (QS STAR) and has been granted the HR Excellence in Research award in 2018.
The Faculty of Business, as part of UBB, is the first higher education institution to offer business studies in Romania, being established in 1994. The Faculty of Business provides its students the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in business, as well as the ability for continuous self-improvement.
